Netflix & RVing are like peas and carrots!

According to internet research, one of the #1 ways “RVers” get their movie and/or TV show fix is by watching Netflix. Netflix has so much to offer in way of variety and for the low monthly cost, it’s worth it! Some may even say, Netflix & RVing are like peas and carrots, they are perfect together.

If you are traveling with your family, a movie on Netflix at the end of the evening just may be a nice way to relax and wind-down before bed. Maybe it’s just you and your partner and you’re thinking of a more couple oriented show, they have that too. There is something for everyone to choose on Netflix.

Don’t get me wrong though, I’m not advocating a TV/Movie marathon while out in the great outdoors! I would much rather enjoy nature, fish, swim, boat, hike! But  there is nothing wrong, in my opinion, with cuddling up in the RV with a good movie at the end of the night!

Happy RVing :)

RVing in the Winter

If you’ve ever been on a trip in your RV or motor home during the winter, you may have just come across some snow. Depending on where you live and where you are traveling, the mountain passes can be a big headache if a winter storm hits. Knowing how to manuever in the snow with such a large vehicle takes skill. Hence the newest trend in RVing in the winter… out-of-area storage!

In Redding, CA a big majority of RV storage is from those living above the mountain passes. People come from as far up as Canada to store their vehicle where they can easily access it and go without having to navigate the snowy mountain passes. Bend, OR and Portland, OR are two other cities that we see driving down with their recreational vehicles to take advantage of the better winter weather.

In my opinion, if you plan to use your motor home for winter travel it makes a great deal of sense to keep yourself from the harsh cold side of the road trying to install chains, etc. when you have the option to store in a dryer climate and just get in and go when you want.  What is your opinion? I’d love to hear it! Leave a comment below.

Happy RVing!

RV Storage & Aging Tires

According to an article on, aging tires on your RV/Motorhome can be a big concern. Keeping your RV out in the elements, especially the sun, can prematurally age your tires. Aging tires can fail causing a dangerous situation. In order to help prevent this tire failure you should inspect your tires before travel. Driving the RV/Motorhome once in a while can help as tires age more quickly when they are not used… who knew!? Storing your RV can be helpful in slowing the aging of your tires although several factors can affect the rubber of the tires. If you have any stories to share about traveling in your RV and/or tire aging, we’d love to hear about it. Leave your comments below :)
